your knee will surely get hurt. but you just had two weeks of all rest and eating, you tub of lard. your shoes haven't been broken-in yet. this is the best time to for a break-in. it's 5k. it's just 5k. it's hot outside. it's hotter inside.
...And so now you all know which won me over.
Arriving at the venue, it was quite dark still, and as we were a little late I worried that I might not have time to stretch my legs, yet another doctor's orders violation. As I was a bit more talkative than usual that morning, I didn't notice that there was light already and I had done 3 sets already. Good for my legs, but not good for me a little later as it turned out to be a HOT run.
I forgot to turn off my nike+ yet again after the race, but actually, the struggling started at 500 meters prior to the finish line, knee-wise and heart rate wise. That explains the pathetic drop at the end of just (just!) 5k. Oh and the heat...it was rising from the ground. My favorite part was passing by gutter grills and..."experiencing" the vomit-inducing exhaust. You can't miss it. My watch said 38:19 when I crossed, so I guess it wasn't as bad as I thought.

All in all, it was enjoyable. It was a nice morning talking to friendly people, seeing nice male buh-hinds pass you by every now and then and watching beauty pageant candidates dance around the place (jei howw). :P But most of all the sweet breakfast right after. :D
